PROGRESS REPORT TWO

Styling issues aside, we are making good progress. We get spotify tracks for good chunk of the falling songs. The Spotify API is damn fast! Good job.

Progress report one

We’re doing progress in short bursts, finding ourselves stumped by XHR troubles and malformed manifests.json. Ugh! However, the pizza has arrived. All is not lost.

Introducing: Mood Knobs

This is an introductory post to a 24 hour music hack day project.

What?

The idea: tune a search query using knobs, making the act of searching somewhat more physical. Each knob is connected to a mood (dark or rowdy, for example).

How?

Echonest provides an API that lets you search artist and tracks based on, incidentally, moods. Very useful.

The implementation surface, of course, is Spotify. The new App platform is just what we need to deploy a JS+CSS interface. The music playing facilities of above service will also come in handy.

What else?

More to follow.
